How a Family Saved $1,000 in one month! (and it was mine!)
Hello faithful followers! Let me tell you a story. Way back in February, Mike and I were gaining some momentum on debt repayment, saving money, and all the things we wanted to accomplish. Not long after, we went for quite a roller coaster ride. We relocated to Roscommon.. my hometown, and moved a second time since we came back. You see, we both want to have multiple sources of income, write, create, build products, but it always seems as if one or both of us were stuck in a job. Now, don’t misunderstand, we work… but our last move was to an opportunity that not only has us available for our growing family but allows a lot of freedom with our schedule. WONDERFUL!!!!
With that, we must admit to falling back into all of our bad patterns and spending habits. I probably could have paid all of our debt by now except my student loan, with the amount of money we blow. I digress though. Back to February.
We decided that one habit we needed to revamp was food expense. We spent on average.. $250.00 to $300.00 a week on eating out and groceries. Not kidding, really, we did and are not far off now. But we have committed to a lifestyle of reduced expense in order to build the life we want so……. here it comes, the food challenge!
